Will Stacey say ‘I do’?

Week beginning Monday 29th October, BBC One


Stacey’s starting to panic about her missing mobile and Max isn’t impressed either what with all the incriminating evidence on it. Luckily for Stacey, her mum still has hold of it, but it soon ends up in Sean’s grasp and he isn’t too shy to riffle through her saucy texts from Jerry. Max tries one last time to rekindle his affair with Stacey, but as she tells him that it’s over and she’s marrying his son, Sean hears everything.

As the wedding day arrives, the Branning and Slater households are buzzing and Sean is holding his cards close to his heart. Stacey’s confused by Sean’s mood and he makes several barbed comments as she heads off to have her hair and makeup done by Tanya. Sean then hunts down Max and tells him that he knows everything before dragging him into the square.

Over the road, Stacey’s in her dress when she realises that she’s left her dad’s wedding ring at home. She heads over to get it and finds Sean with Max. She tells Sean that she came on to Max, but he’s convinced that Max has taken advantage of his little sister. With steam coming out of Sean’s ears, Stacey asks Max to leave so that she can talk to her brother alone. The best man/worst dad heads back over to Bradley’s and Stacey convinces herself, if not Sean, that she’s doing the right thing and heads off to the church.

Sean is desperate to help Stacey come to her senses so he turns up at the church. He corners Tanya outside the church and asks her whether he would have stood a chance if they had met earlier and she tells him that she might have considered it. Stacey tells Sean to go home before walking down the aisle, but will she be able to say I do?

Roxy, Ronnie and Max's Dad

Week beginning Monday 29th October, BBC One

Jack Branning, Max’s cocky cop of a brother, arrives in Walford for Stacey and Bradley’s wedding and it turns out to be in the nick of time. With Damian threatening to take Roxy away to Ibiza forever, Ronnie lures him into the bedroom and teases him by taking off her top before pulling him on top of her and screaming for help. Peggy, Roxy and Jack rush to help her and Jack slaps on the cuffs and issues Damian with a caution. Just before Jack carts him off to the police station, Ronnie promises not to press charges if he comes up with a cash offer and he reluctantly agrees. While Roxy is smitten with Jack, he only has eyes for Ronnie.

Jase and his dodgy mate

Week beginning Monday 29th October, BBC One

Jase is still toying with his dodgy old mates, but promises to Jay and the possibility of a date with Dawn are luring him away from the dark side. Despite agreeing to help Terry settle a score, Jay convinces his dad to stay in and watch a DVD with him. After receiving a threatening text message, Jase becomes all overprotective of Jay and his fretting makes him late for his date with Dawn. When he turns up, Dawn storms off so he heads back home. Out of the flat window, Jay sees Terry pull up and gives Jase a sinister look that tells him he’ll be back.

Jase gets a job but his past comes back to haunt him

Week beginning Monday 22 October 2007, BBC One

Jase lands himself some decorating work with the Masood family and it’s cash in one hand and out the other when he trips over Dawn’s buggy and has to buy her a new one. His past also comes back to haunt him when his old mate Bird turns up to remind him about his violent past. Bird hangs around and pressurises Jase to catch up with old pals, and although Jase resists he soon finds himself in the clutch of his old friends. Old jailbird Terry gives Jase some cash and tries to rope him into sorting out the grass that put him away. Jase tries to avoid the bait, but Terry fights hard to try and reel him in.

Heather looks hot

Week beginning Monday 22 October 2007, BBC One

Heather struts through the square wearing a tight black and white top and shiny hot pants and she wonders why everyone is smirking at her. When she arrives at the Minute Mart, Patrick nearly chokes on his drink at the sight of her and he tactfully explains why people are paying her so much attention. Patrick’s worried about Heather’s low self esteem so he ropes in Garry to pay her a compliment. Unfortunately, it’s enough to make Heather think she could stand a chance with Garry after all. Heather has her sights set on Garry once again and this time there’s no escape.

Stacey's wedding and Jim's stroke

Week beginning Monday 22 October 2007, BBC One

Stacey’s making final preparations for her wedding and her choice of bridesmaid dresses gets right up Rachel’s nose. Rachel, meanwhile, is getting right up Tanya’s nose. She makes sure that Tanya feels as fat and frumpy as possible before chucking her off the top table so she can sit next to Max. To top it off, blooming Tanya then bursts out of her dress when she tries it on. Max brushes off Tanya when she needs a shoulder most, but Sean is quick to tell her how beautiful she looks. His compliments are exactly what she needs to hear and Sean seizes his chance of another kiss.

 

At the pre-wedding lunch, Tanya’s forced to listen to Rachel’s insinuations that Max will cheat on her. Little does she know. The warring families toast the soon-to-be bride and groom when Tanya receives a call that poor Jim has had a stroke. Max sees this as an opportunity to cancel the wedding, but Dot insists that it go ahead. Max corners Stacey in the kitchen and she reminds him that Tanya is having his baby. As he tells her that he doesn’t care and wants to be with her they hear the front door slam. They know that somebody overheard them, but whom?

Peggy's in a pickle

With the bailiffs on her back, Peggy Mitchel is desperate enough to consider a loan from a shark in a suit. More trouble breaks through her back door when Peggy interrupts a burglary by Sean Slater, but all is not as it seems. When Roxy and Ronnie find Peggy battered and bruised, they urge her to call the police, but all Peggy is interested in is phoning her insurance company. When the loss adjudicator arrives, he tells her that they can’t do anything without a police report and Peggy is in a right pickle. Ronnie and Roxy realise that something doesn’t add up and force Peggy to tell them what is going on. As they try and think of a way to bail Peggy out, Damien turns up and not exactly out of the blue. He plans to take Roxy back to Ibiza while Roxy promises Ronnie that she’ll return with the money. Ronnie doesn’t know what to think when she realises that Roxy lied about losing her engagement ring.
